Hybrids are a complex mess. The best car I ever owned was a VW Beetle. I could repair it with a screwdriver, a pair of pliers and a lug wrench that fit the spark plugs. I once fixed a broken fuel pump when stuck by the road with a Swiss army knife, a screwdriver and a piece of plastic wrapper I found. THAT is the American way! Today I need a tow truck, a shop full of computer technicians and a wad of missing cash. That is why I will never buy another American car, unless you geniuses can best the VW beetle with an American car that goes and goes on pennies instead of twenties.
